MAKE FOOD NOT WASTE

DONATION DRIVE

We’re proud to announce that Key Association Management is supporting a local non-profit organization to help those in need during these difficult times. Make Food Not Waste www.makefoodnotwaste.org  is an organization that is committed to feeding people, not landfills. The upcycling kitchens at Make Food Not Waste use overlooked food (from local grocers with fresh/boxed/canned produce that is almost about to expire) to feed people, not landfills.  They believe that food is far too important to be thrown away into landfills and they envision a Michigan where no food creates methane emissions in landfills. They work to stop food waste before it occurs and gives overlooked food a place to go.

At the meal distribution center at the Presbyterian church off of Jefferson in Detroit, volunteers help to package meals, prepare them for distribution and hand them out to folks in the communities along with personal hygiene items, clothing, coats and other necessary items that may be needed.

This organization has touched many of our hearts here at Key as Dawn Miller and some of her team members have volunteered at the meal distribution center and got to experience first hand the positive impact this organization is making, the joy it brings to people, the people that you meet along the way and the mouths that you help to feed. Giving back and offering help to this organization is truly something to be thankful for!

Please see the attached flier for non-perishable, hygiene and gently used winter clothing donation items that are needed. Donations are now open and will be accepted until November 19th, 2025. We would greatly appreciate your support in making a difference!

Donation Hours:

Monday thru Thursday 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Special Hours for donations only: Saturday November 8th 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

Special Hours for donations only: Saturday November 15th 10:00 a.m.- 12:00 p.m.

Every contribution—big or small—helps bring hope and relief to others.

If you would like to volunteer, volunteers help Make Food Not Waste feed hungry people by giving overlooked food a place to go. Volunteers are the heart of their mission, driving change by helping to reduce food waste, fight climate change, and feed our community. Their dedication and hard work enable them to rescue surplus food, transform it into nutritious meals, and deliver it to those in need.

They welcome everyone to join them—no prior experience is necessary and their team will guide you every step of the way.
